Feltguiden
The Feltguiden apps are made to be used out in the field, not to gather information about you. That is why they are built so that they do not need your data at all.

The apps have no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Everything you save, such as notes, locations, logs and progress, stays on your own phone. Nothing is sent to me or to anyone else.
Purchases go through the App Store and are handled by Apple. I never see your payment details.

Below you will find the full privacy policy. If you have any questions, you are welcome to get in touch.
Feltguiden privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy applies to the Feltguiden app for iPhone and iPad.
Feltguiden is made to be safe for everyone. This page explains how the app handles information, and the choices you have.
In short
• Feltguiden does not collect any information about you.
• Everything you save stays on your own device.
• No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.
• Nothing is shared with or sold to anyone.
Who is behind the app
Feltguiden is developed and provided by Linnerud-Vågeng Thomas Liva Photo & Adventure, a sole proprietorship owned by Thomas Linnerud-Vågeng, organisation number 927 348 896, Alstadmyra 11, 8072 Bodø, Norway. We are responsible for this privacy policy.
Contact us at app.dev.thomasliva@gmail.com or via the website thomasliva.com.
What information do we collect?
None. Feltguiden has no server, no user account and no sign-in. The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking technology or third-party components that collect data. We have no access to anything you do or save in the app.
What is stored on your device?
To work, the app stores some information in its own storage area on your phone:
• which chapters you have read, and where you left off
• bookmarks and settings, such as level, night light and language
• the last values you used in the calculators
• the chosen location in the light planner
• the places you save in My places, with name, location and notes
• the camera and lenses you enter in My gear
• your packing list
• the terrain around places you have downloaded terrain for
This information never leaves the device through the app. Other apps cannot access it. If you have turned on your phone’s own backup, such as iCloud or Google backup, the information may be included. You control this in your phone’s settings, and it takes place between you and Apple or Google.
Location
The app only asks for access to your location when you tap “Use my location” or “Use where I am”. Access is optional.
• Your location is only used to calculate the light, or to save a place you have chosen.
• It is never fetched in the background, and never sent anywhere.
• In the light planner it is rounded to about one kilometre before it is stored.
• In My places the exact location is stored, because that is the point of the feature. It is stored only on the device.
You can turn off access at any time in your phone’s settings. The app still works: you can search for places or enter coordinates.
Photos
Photo check reads the settings in a photo you choose yourself, such as shutter speed, aperture and ISO. The app only gets access to the one photo you choose, not to the rest of your photos.
• The photo is read only on your phone, and is neither stored nor sent anywhere.
• The app does not read the location that may be stored in the photo.
• When you leave the page, the photo is gone from the app.
Internet and other apps
Feltguiden does not need the internet, and sends no information about you over the network. Some features let you choose to use the internet or other apps:
• Horizon in the light planner downloads open elevation data from Amazon Web Services, but only when you tap “Get terrain”. The request contains only the map tiles needed, and so shows roughly which area it concerns, an area of a few kilometres. Names, notes, your location and other information are not sent. As with any request on the internet, the service sees the IP address of the network you use. The elevation data is processed on your phone, and only the result is stored there.
• Show on map opens the map app you choose, with only the coordinates. Names and notes are not sent. Once the map app opens, that app’s own privacy policy applies.
• Backup creates a file that you decide where to store. The file contains your places with their exact location. When you restore a backup, the file is read only on your device.
Buying the app
You buy the app through the App Store or Google Play. Payment and purchase details are handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We do not learn who you are. We only see total sales figures.
Crash reports from Apple and Google
The app has no crash reporting tool of its own. If you have chosen in your phone’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple or Google may give us anonymised crash reports and aggregated statistics. These cannot be linked to you, and we only use them to fix errors. You can turn this off in your phone’s privacy settings.
Sharing with others
We do not share, sell or transfer any information to anyone, because we hold no information about you. We transfer no information about you to countries outside the EU and EEA. If you use Horizon in the light planner, the request for elevation data goes to Amazon Web Services, which may have servers outside the EU and EEA.
How long is information kept, and how do you delete it?
Information stays on your device until you delete it. You can:
• delete individual places in My places, and remove bookmarks
• tap “Forget my location” in the light planner
• delete everything under Tools, “About and privacy”, with the “Delete all data” button
• uninstall the app, which deletes everything the app has stored
Copies you have made yourself, such as backup files or your phone’s own backup, you must delete yourself. We hold no information about you that we could delete. If you email us, we only use the email to reply, and delete it when the matter is closed.
Children
Feltguiden can be used by all ages. The app collects no information from anyone, including children.
Security
Information is kept in the app’s protected storage area, and is protected by your phone’s own encryption when the phone is locked. Use a passcode or biometrics on your phone. The backup file is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere only you can access.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and to object to processing. Because all information is on your own device, you are in full control: you can view, change and delete everything in the app, and take it with you in a backup.
If you have questions, contact us. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (datatilsynet.no), or to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
Changes
If we change this privacy policy, we update it in the app and on the website, with a new date. We will never start collecting information without saying so clearly in advance, and without asking for consent where the law requires it.
